Hello! I am Adriana Bogdan

I am a programmer by training and an explorer of the past by passion. This project was born from the desire to present History through multimedia applications, giving it a visual and interactive dimension.
My project has followed a path full of challenges and satisfactions, evolving with technology. My beginnings in this field preceded the era of Artificial Intelligence, based on “artisanal” and meticulous documentation work.
In the first stage, I explored the creation of animated thematic maps using the potential of 2D animation in Adobe Animate, where I assumed the role of screenwriter, graphic designer and audio editor. Each movement on the map was manually synchronized with audio explanations recorded and processed by me, resulting in animated stories that retain a personal imprint.
Later, I discovered the power of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in creating interactive thematic maps, which allowed me to move from illustration to cartographic rigor. I wrote custom programming code in QGIS, integrated complex databases and attached multimedia resources to highly accurate maps. The fusion of programming and digital geography allowed me to give a new depth to the themes addressed.
I was not satisfied with just rendering information, but I sought to explore a wide range of visual styles. Although this site reflects my subjective vision, each theme is treated in a specific manner, and the projects in progress promise to bring new perspectives and methods of interaction.
Although the maps presented here have a historical core, my vision of interactive multimedia goes beyond the boundaries of this discipline. The technologies and workflow I have developed can be extrapolated to spheres such as education, edutainment, sociology, online journalism, or any field that requires a clear and aesthetic display of complex information.
I invite you to explore these fragments of time, reconstructed pixel by pixel, and discover how technology can become a good storyteller of the past.
