Hello! I am Adriana Bogdan

I am a programmer with a great passion: to present the History through multimedia applications, specifically to expose it through interactive and animated thematic maps. But their application is not only limited to the History. It can be extended on the web for other topics: learning, educational entertainment, sociology and online journalism, as well as for for animated/video abstracts for scientific papers in various fields.
From the first ideas regarding this project to its implementation, I followed an exciting, challenging but rewarding path. Now, with all the experience I have gained, it is clear to me that the technique is extremely important, but the most relevant for success are the topics - which should arouse interest - and the style in which they are approached.
In order to prove the wide range of expression I added thematic layers to the interactive maps and I also created the animated maps, starting with the design of the scripts, continuing with the graphic processing of images (raster and vector), recording and editing audio files and composing the animation. Each theme has a specific style, to show off the extensive variety of approaches.
The investment was minimal: I used sources from the public domain or that allow playback for educational and non-commercial purposes, and as software, except for Adobe Animate (a professional animation software), all others are open source. The interactive maps were processed in QGIS, to which I added some programming code and also attached databases, images, audio, video files and charts. The animated maps were created in Adobe Animate, the raster images were processed in GIMP and the vector ones in Inkscape, and the sound files were recorded on the smartphone and processed in Audacity. I mention that I also have strong knowledge in licensed software versions (ArcGIS for interactive GIS maps, Photoshop for raster images, CorelDRAW for vector images). I also use JASP, Jamovi and RStudio for statistical data analysis and data visualization plots.
